About the NAFP

Welcome to the Web site of the Nevada Academy of Family Physicians (NAFP)! We are the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Our purpose is to assist Nevada family physician members in providing the highest quality of care for their patients.

We educate our members on the most current medical information important to the specialty. Every year we offer over 90 hours of CME through our Summer CME Meeting in Las Vegas and our Winter CME Meeting held in Lake Tahoe. In additional to our annual meetings, the NAFP also offers bi-monthly CME dinner meetings, Rural Health Programs, and Medical Ethics CME programs. During these meetings, our members have the opportunity to meet and exchange valuable ideas with other family physicians in the state.

We are pleased to promote the growth of this important specialty through a variety of student and resident programs including mentoring programs. All medical students and residents are invited to all CME programs and the NAFP provides the opportunity for both students and residents to serve on the Board of Directors.

We also ran the highly successful Tar Wars smoking cessation program throughout the state for many years. To find out other ways you can get involved, please call Brooke at 775-826-5100 or click here to email Brooke.
